December 20, 2000 - As you can see, the counter has gone past the 2000 mark, about two and a half months ahead of schedule. Perhaps the discussion board has been attracting more frequent visitors. Visitor #2000 has revealed himself to be Quincy Wargo, who went to my high school and who I have not seen in about seven years. Apparently he happened across my site and became Visitor #2000 in the process.
November 30, 2000 - The December History is up an hour and a half early. I hope none of you were waiting until the last minute to read the November History. I have another set of pictures planned for the near future. This time there won't be a single Leah or Todd to be seen, however. Keep an eye out!
November 28, 2000 - As promised, I have updated the navigation columns on all of the pages. The December History Page is next on the list of things to do. I see no reason why it won't be up late Thursday night. I hope all of my American readers had a good Thanksgiving last weekend. I hope my Canadian reader(s) had a good Thanksgiving last month.
November 24, 2000 - As you can see, the home page has been tweaked a little more. I plan on getting the navigation bars on all the pages updated this weekend. As soon as the MDBL Commissioner releases the official stats, I'm going to update the Knucklebells page too. Speaking of which, the Knucklebells are being added to the Stuff That Defies Categorization because 1)I didn't have the space on the new-and-improved navigation bar for the icon, 2)I don't imagine it generates a whole lot of interest among my current audience, and 3)the Uncategorizable Page needs more stuff now that the pictures have their own section. The text link will stay where it is for now, but once I get the link set up on the Uncategorizable Page, I'll probably take it out so the text link columns will be even.
November 19, 2000 - Well, I was just going to post some more pictures of Leah and Todd. I ended up tidying up the Home Page and adding a new section for the pictures while I was at it. I figured the pictures weren't exactly Uncatgorizable anymore, this being the third batch I've posted and all. I also finally got around to adding an archive of old Words From The Sitemaster, in case you ever want to trace the history of the site back to New Year's 2000. I hope you all can still read the sections on the Featureweb. I keep shrinking it. Look at the bright side - the page loads more quickly with smaller graphics. I hope I didn't mess up anyone's routine by rearranging the links, either.
November 2, 2000 - The November History is done. Grueling work, I tells ya. It took me almost 2 hours. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing updates more often to the site in general. I'm sure you are all waiting anxiously to see the Knucklebells final stats.
I went to the dentist today for the first time in six-and-a-half years. In that time, I collected a total of zero cavities. Thank goodness for flouridated tap water.
October 9, 2000 - I would have posted the October History a few days ago, but I had added some September birthdays last week, and I wanted to give the interested parties a chance to see what I wrote. I've got it up now though, along with pictures from my trip to Redbrook in August, most of which are pictures of Leah and Todd (they're in the Uncategorizable section). I've also added a couple poems I wrote back in July but never occured to me to add to the site. I'm starting to get to be a slacker. I'm also planning on posting the final Knucklebells stats, as soon as I'm sure I have all the correct stats and I have solidified the 2001 roster, so I can do everything all at once.
September 5, 2000 - I finally remembered to post the September History, which had actually been ready to go Sunday morning. I had other things on my mind. Someday in the near future, I hope to post the pictures I took at Redbrook. Really.
August 13, 2000 - It would seem I was a week off in my estimated time of arrival for the History Page. Sorry about that. In a somewhat related story, I've done 6 baseball transactions in the past week. Most of them took a great deal of thought. Not surprisingly, the Jose Vizcaino pick-up was the one that I didn't put much thought into. I just realized it's Todd's 2-month birthday today. They grow up so quickly.
July 29, 2000 - I'll be away from my computer for the next week and I never got a chance to even start working on the History Page. The upshot being that the August History will not be up until at least August 6. Sorry.
June 20, 2000 - I stayed up pretty late scanning in pictures from my visit to my brother's house Sunday. For those of you who have been anxious to see pictures of the baby, well, now there are many to see. I also have a bunch of Leah pictures and some of her artwork. And it can all be found here. For future reference, the link can also be found in the Uncategorizable Section.
June 14, 2000 - In case you haven't already heard, my nephew, Todd Andrew Bell, was finally born at 3:43 pm yesterday after a rather lengthy pregnancy. Everybody is doing just fine. I have duly updated the Born This Month section of the History Page.
June 4, 2000 - I finally put the June History up. I was waiting for my nephew to arrive so I could add his birthday, but he's still a no-show, so I'll just add him later. Any additions I make to the History Page will be posted on the discussion board as well as added to the actual page. You can bet news of my nephew's eventual arrival will appear in numerous locations.
May 16, 2000 - It took almost exactly nine months for this site to amass another 500 visitors. Kelly McHugh, formerly of Towson, Maryland and currently of Richmond, Virginia, was Visitor #1500. Since it took 17 months for the first 1000 to visit, I'd say the traffic has been coming in at a fairly steady pace from the get-go. So be on the lookout for #2000 around February 2001 (which is when I reach my own milestone - the big 3-0) and let me know who hits it!
Speaking of the get-go, I was cleaning out old stuff from my hard drive recently, when I happened upon a copy of the very first posting of this Home Page! Since I still have all the graphics that went with it, I could re-post it in some kind of archive, should the mood strike me. I've also been saving the old Words from The Sitemaster. I could post those in an archive too. The Uncategorizable section needs more stuff anyway.
May 3, 2000 - Even though there was an April History, I never mentioned it here. Sorry for being negligent. The May History is up, but there will be more added to it in the next couple of days, so be sure to come back! This time I promise to note when the page has been updated on this page, and not just on the discussion board.
I see that Visitor #1500 is coming up. Let me know who gets it, either in the guestbook or on the discussion board! You don't have to be signed up as a member to post on the bbs.
March 26, 2000 - Due to semi-popular demand, I went and got myself a discussion board. I was able to think up some topics that Karenworld isn't already using. The board has actually been up for a little over a week and I would have gotten the link (and necessary Featureweb rearranging) posted sooner, but I had a baseball draft coming up and most of my time over the past week was consumed by preparations. But it's up now. Plus I have the Knucklebells page updated. If you're interested in finding out who I drafted, you can check it out. A few of those players were kinda desperation picks, so go easy on me. I should have the April History page up on Saturday, but I may find myself more inclined to relax for a while and play Civilization: Call to Power or Alpha Centauri. It was a stressful week, and not just because of the draft.
Late February 29, 2000 - Somehow I managed to go an entire month without making a single update to the site. I've had other stuff on my mind lately. I do have changes planned, though. I've got the March History up, making it the first History Page to be posted three times. Go look at it anyway, since I made enough changes to it to make it seem like new (I think so, anyway). Besides, it's been a whole year since you looked at it. Now you know why I decided not to post all 12 months in one big archive. I recently had sudden inspiration to crank out a decent review for Dogma. I got about halfway through before I had to go do something else, and the inspiration went away again. I'll try to finish it soon. Ditto on several other things I keep promising to do. The Knucklebells page should be updated in about three weeks. I can sense your excitement already. Some of you out there have suggested that I add a discussion board. I'll do it if I can come up with topics that aren't already on the Karenworld board. Otherwise, we all may as well stick to going to Karenworld for our discussion board needs. I'll keep y'all updated on this particular project.
Feb 1, 2000 - The February History is up. I've decided against archiving the other months. I've gotten some good feedback on the new section, and I thank you for that. I still need to think up some stuff to add to it, though. I will likely have another quiz to post, but that won't happen until mid-July at the earliest. I'm sure something else will pop up before then. I've got a new Supercool Adventure bouncing around in my head, but I can't quite work it out into something I can write up. Stay tuned anyway.
Jan. 23, 2000 - I've added a new category for anything new I make that doesn't fall under any of the pre-existing categories. So far I've got only one uncategorizable page, but I'm sure I'll think up more stuff. For the moment, I'm only linking to the new section from the home page because I'm too lazy to re-do the columns on all the other pages and there isn't much in the new section anyway. I'll get to it soon, I'm sure.
I've also rearranged the links on the left a bit. Since the History Page is the feature attraction, I figured it should be at the top. Which reminds me, I really should think about getting the February History ready so it can go up on time. It's been suggested that I post all 12 History Pages up in some kind of archive. I'm considering it at the moment.
Jan. 2, 2000 - Well, here we are. I guess we can stop wondering if the clock change will have any effect on our utilities. I personally believe that it was never a problem, based on the assumption that there is no way every single computer in the world was fixed, and yet the only utility problems that popped up anywhere during the date change were weather-related. Of course, four gallons of spring water and a couple bags full of canned goods in the kitchen say that I wasn't willing to bet on that belief. Anyway, we'll see if our luck continues when the stock markets open on Monday.
OK, down to actual web site business. The January History Page is up and running. The movie reviews for Election and Dogma are still in the development stage. I'm working on some stuff for which I may need to create a new category. The last time I created a new category, I ended up re-designing the whole site. I don't expect I'll do that again. Which reminds me, I still need to get the Supercool Adventures into present-day format.
And, as you can see, I've taken a cue from BellHome and Karenworld, among others, and have started putting dates on my messages. Just another touch to make your visit to my site a more convenient experience.
