Redbrook 2000

Some of you have seen Redbrook Beach many times, but for those of you who have not been there, this is what it looks like. After descending the stairs from Redbrook itself and walking clear of the tree line, this is what you see when you look left and right. If you look forward, all you'll see is water, unless you are about 900 feet tall, in which case you may see Canada on a clear day.

To the left is Hallwood's beach, and Erie Shores' beach is just beyond that. The lifeguard at Erie Shores won't let you paddle a raft into their waters. Apparently they are under the impression that they own that 200 foot-wide sliver of lake all the way to Canada. They acted that way when we "tresspassed" back in '88, anyway.

To the right is the pier, where I have never caught a fish, but many others have. The canal to the Redbrook Boat Club is on the other side of the pier. We do not have a boat there. Between Redbrook and the pier is Arcola's beach. I know they have a stairway down to their beach because we had to use it once to sneak past some people, but I can't say if I've ever actually seen anybody hanging out on that part of the beach. In fact, I got through my first 14 years or so without realizing there was another community between us and the pier. I guess Arcolans aren't big beachgoers.
